| Almex receives contract award
for
a mobile ticketing system in Aarhus, Denmark |

Hanover, 15 February 2008 --- Midttrafik,
one of Denmark's largest bus operators, headquartered in Aarhus,
has opted in favour of a solution from Almex for the modernisation
of its ticketing system. As a business division of Höft & Wessel
AG, Almex delivers innovative overall solutions to the public passenger
transport sector. This ticket specialist from Hanover, Germany, is to equip 210 buses with mobile almex.compact ticket terminals. As a new feature for passengers in Aarhus, a number of bus stops will additionally be equipped with almex.station stationary ticket terminals. The almex.office background system links a number of independent transportation firms by means of a common control centre. Using a GPRS link, the mobile sales systems are also constantly monitored. During an international tendering process, Almex was able to convince on the basis of its effective overall solution. A modern background system, reliable automation technology and customer-oriented services were decisive for the decision by Midttrafik in favour of Almex as a system supplier. Höft & Wessel AG, Hanover, established by the entrepreneurs of the same name in 1978, has remained an innovative SME to this day. The company, which has been listed on the stock market since 1998, provides enterprises of note in the retail, logistics, transport & traffic sectors with products and solutions optimised for customers’ specific needs: convenient, mobile data recording devices of the Skeye brand, innovative ticket systems of the Almex brand and robust car park ticket vending machines from the UK subsidiary, Metric. About one third of the company's workforce of approximately 500 employees is engaged in research and development. An average of ten per cent of sales revenues is invested in this field each year. Höft & Wessel products are available in Germany as well as in many European markets, and, in line with the company's internationalisation strategy, increasingly also in the U.S. |
